Going Green!

It's time,... he said to himself... off of work early..., and he jumps into the car headed for the local DIY store for a gallon!?...do you really need that much? ...his inner voice says...of course!,... he answers... ("what's that" the wife says...as he tries to sneak the gallon can past "the guards"...)...oh nothing much, a little paint... ...just a little of the most beautiful... (to a gamer...) shade of green that he can imagine!! A few paint rollers and a few hours later and voila!...the reverse side of his flocked gaming boards are turned to the finest "Old School" Green!

ahhh...quite a cathartic moment I must say and I can't wait to lay out another battle on the new table! Stokes...you magnificent fellow!!...somehow it all feels... So Right!!

Before...

after...

and without futher ado... the Bleiherzeners decide to parade before the city gates...

...despite their recent seback on the border...by God, they still parade splendidly!

*sob* . . . I know what you mean. I watched the game Stokes played via his photos . . . and I drooled.

I admit it. I'm tempted as you are. I am . . . curse it, I AM.

Me, too. But first I need a gaming table (instead of 2 card tables butted together, with a green sheet draped on top)!

I can't help thinking of that great moment in George C. Scott's portrayal of General Patton, in the film, "Patton"...when he says, "Rommel you magnificent bastard,...I read your book!" and I think to myself..."Stokes, you magnificent bastard, I read your Blog!..." ;)

Looking great - I love the buildings and figures too. I used to have a vast table many, many moons ago but now the dining room table has to suffice- for present...

The right shade of green for that OSW look; the main thing is to ensure your figs bases are a reasonable match in colour as well.

The figs look nice with the buildings and the plain green table.

Allan, Yes I'm going to have to "dial in" the green of my bases. I've also got a fair number of figures with flocked bases so I may have to accept a little visual discord...but that will work itself out eventually.

By God, I do believe that they do parade nicely.

Your table looks very nice as do the RSM figures.

As for the basing of the figures, once you have a lot of them, you won't notice any difference in the base green versus table green because your eye will be drawn elsewhere. Trust me on this one.
