a tense firefight at the the height of the Allied attack on the French right...
simultaneously, Allied cavalry attempts to turn the French left... 
a first French volley...empties a few saddles...
the cavalry charge comes on... losing a large number of officers.... and is shattered by a close range volley...but a supporting squadron of dragoons slip by and capture a battery...
a brave, but somewhat crazed... colonel of French dragoons manages to survive a blast of musketry with only a few holes in his coat!...
an advancing French (my Grolsteiners standing in for French) regiment blasts away at a surviving composite battalion previously rallied by the brigade commander...but these brave lads cannot stand the disciplined musketry of the fresh battalion
the last gasp of the Allied assault depends on a brave battalion of grenadiers, but alas they too are shattered by the steady volleys of the French....an outcome quite a-historical but interesting nonetheless
and finally the French prevail...here the French CinC rides back victorious to Minden escorted by a squad of hussars and ADCs to enjoy a well earned glass of Claret.(The figures in this battle were my Prussians and Austrians plus units of my two ImagiNations but true to the spirit of old school 18th century gaming, we don't worry too much about that!...and great fun was had as a result! Rules were "The Wargame" by Grant with no modifications except the later version of artillery rules, i.e. the 4" roundshot "sleeve")
