20MM Colonials Action

This week some pics of another small colonial action that I managed to squeeze in between work, family and dental surgery!
Highlanders move into a small valley in column
A half company of Ghurkas
Bengal Lancers in advance of the column
Pathans draw up in ambush
A band of Pathans  surge through a narrow defile
though the British column looses initially they quickly are able form up and deliver several crushing volleys
...that eventually send the small Pathan force off the field.

Still don't have enough Pathans painted up to give the Brits much resistance, so I'm going to have to step up the painting this month.

Please also see my FOR SALE link at the top of the page for some cool ships up and other minis  for auction!

Yes the rules of choice are TSATF.

We just started a Colonial campaign using TSATF. I've got a blog for it:

Of course I'm using the "small 25mm" Ral Parthas instead of 20mm troops . . . but there isn't that much difference.

I have enough Pathans (and some Dervishes) but no Zulus yet (I'm painting 120 though).

I look forward to more of your battle accounts.

I really like these 20mm colonials, but what happened to the 25mm Sudan figures?

Jage,
Unfortunately, I had to sell them...I have been struggling with finances for the past couple of years...(between an ex-wife and a strangled economy there is not much left to keep those beloved colonial figures)...and fortunately I am able to "paint" my way out of trouble from time to time...
I sometimes wish I could write that great set of rules that really hit the mark...but that maybe is for the future...
I'm pretty fortunate that my painting has been able to get me out of hot water on more than one occasion!...

Great report - excellent figures too...

Don't tell me about ex-wifes! Ha LoL!!

If you have any unpainted 20mm figures, guns & limbers etc you don't want - I would be happy to pay for them...

Excellent blog too

Good luck with all

Thats the ticket old boy, steady volleys and keeping your nerve usually does the trick.
Reminds me of the time I was up the Khyber in '68'or was it '86'?..

Those Highlanders are jolly well turned out by the way.
